The championship this year features a strong field of 18 players, with 4 seeds who were the semifinalists from the last year: Phuong Tran - the Vietbay 2013 champion, Binh Nguyen (runner up), Kim Cuong and Viet Ha-Thuc both semi finalist.

 ... And the result is an unprecedented schedule in the tennis history, in which two big groups of 9 players playing in the first round robin of 72 matches in total! This is almost as big as an ATP Masters 1000 or Wimbledon or US Open or any of the Slam (where the number of official matches in the first two rounds is 64)!
